Church Life Coordinator

I have been blessed to serve at Newaygo United Methodist Church for over 22 years. Over time, I have come to see “Church Life Coordinator” not just as a job, but as a ministry that God has called me to. I love the people of NUMC and our surrounding community, and it brings me great joy to serve with the time and talents God has given me.

Looking back, I can clearly see God’s hand at work in both my family’s story and my own through this church. When my children, Dustin and Taylor, were young, this role gave me the flexibility to be present in their lives as they grew into the wonderful adults they are today. In 2005, I was able to care for my grandmother during her battle with cancer, surrounded by the love and support of this congregation. Then in 2010, when my husband Tim suffered a serious fall that required years of recovery, I was again upheld by the prayers, compassion, and flexibility of NUMC. Through every season, God’s presence has been unmistakable.

The moral of my story here at NUMC is this: “God is always working all things for the good of those who love Him” (Romans 8:28). Even when we can’t see it until later, He is faithful. And when we look back and notice only one set of footprints in the sand, we can be assured—that’s when God was carrying us through.
